Iceland is one of the most epic places in the world to elope! From dramatic black sand beaches to majestic waterfalls, there are so many incredible places to get married and have an adventure at the same time! If you’re looking for inspiration for your dream Iceland elopement, you’ve come to the right place!
Nicole & Michael chose to elope near Vik, Iceland and went to some of the most epic locations on the south coast! They started their day by getting ready in their Land Rover Defender and doing their first look at a scenic spot on the side of the road!
Iceland Elopement at Skogafoss Waterfall
We took advantage of a break in the rain to head to Skogafoss for some incredible, classic Iceland photos! Skogafoss is one of the most popular waterfalls in Iceland and can be very crowded- luckily we were there later in the day and were able to avoid most of the tourists. One tip for avoiding crowds in Iceland is to plan your elopement during the midnight sun- you can spend all night taking incredible photos with no one else around! For more tips, check out my Iceland Elopement Guide!
After Skogafoss, we stopped at these cool fairy houses (Iceland has an obsession with fairies) so N & M could explore! They were beautiful and covered in tons of moss! Also took a PB&J sandwich break- because its your elopement day and you can do and eat whatever you want!
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach Ceremony
Our final stop was Reynisfjara black sand beach where N & M said their vows with the crashing waves in the background! We were there at sunset so it was very private and serene as the light slowly faded over the black sand
We took some final portraits on the famous basalt columns and popped champagne to celebrate! Nicole’s dress had an incredible cape that flowed in the wind and was perfect for a dramatic Iceland elopement! Overall it was an incredible day and N & M were able to see so much on their elopement day!
