There is nowhere dreamier to elope than Mt. Rainier in the summer- Lysa and John were surrounded by wildflowers and epic mountains for their August hiking elopement! Only 2.5 hours from Seattle, the Paradise section of the mountain has some of the most accessible views of Mt. Rainier and can be very crowded in the summer, but if you take a longer hike you can find more privacy! We hiked the 5.6 mile Skyline trail for these stunning views of Mt. Rainier with almost no other people around!
Skyline Trail Hiking Elopement
Early on in the hike you’ll pass Myrtle Falls, one of the best waterfalls at Mt. Rainier with a view of the mountain in the background! This part of the trail is an easy .8 mile walk on a paved path- the perfect spot for if you don’t want to do a ton of hiking in your wedding dress! If you keep hiking past Myrtle Falls, you come to some beautiful fields of wildflowers and some pretty steep stairs! Its definitely a workout but the views are worth it at the end! Towards the end of the trail you can find snow (even in August)!
We found the perfect spot for Lysa and John to say their vows and watch the sunset, surrounded by wildflowers! They spent their day dancing on the side of a mountain, running down the trail to catch the perfect light, popping champagne, and having an amazing adventure together- I don’t think there’s a better way to spend your wedding day!
