Courtney and Justin had one of the most amazing days for their Hoh Rainforest elopement! Their full day elopement started off with a first look at Madison Falls, ceremony at the Hall of Mosses, and ended the day with a sunset picnic at Ruby Beach! This was Courtney and Justins first time visiting Washington and we couldn’t have had a more incredible day! First Look at Madison Falls
Courtney and Justin started their elopement day with a first look at Madison Falls. This spot is a quick 20 minute drive from Port Angeles and only a short walk through the woods to a beautiful waterfall! The best time to visit Madison Falls is in the spring when there is more water flowing but it was still magical in July! Courtney had the most amazing flower crown (designed by Fleurae in Olympia). After their stop here, we got back in the car and drove to the Hall of Mosses for their ceremony.
Ceremony at Hoh Rainforest
After arriving at the Hall of Mosses, we found a quiet spot in the woods for Courtney and Justin to read letters from family and friends. When they were ready, they read their vows to each other and exchanged rings! The lighting in the Hoh Rainforest was so magical! We continued hiking through the forest until we found two strangers to be their witnesses and signed their marriage license (with a pen brought all the way from Scotland where they got engaged). Finishing up our hike, we got back on the road to head to Ruby Beach for sunset!
Sunset at Ruby Beach
Once we finished our hike at the Hoh Rainforest, we headed to Ruby Beach for their sunset picnic! Ruby Beach is unique in that there isn’t actually sand here, it’s mostly rock and driftwood! They had their first dance as the sun was setting with a playlist of their favorite songs. After their dance, they snuggled up on a picnic blanket to drink champagne and eat cake! When the sun had set, we brought out the lanterns to light up their picnic and stroll along the beach. It was the perfect end to the perfect elopement day in Olympic National Park!
Kind Words From Courtney and Justin
“We are so glad we chose Wandering Peaks Photography. When we decided that we wanted to do an adventure elopement in Washington, the first thing my husband said was, “If we do this, we’re definitely going with Hannah!”
Her portfolio was super impressive. She was wonderful every step of the way.
She created an itinerary for our day that was personalized and perfect for us, was organized and responsive, and answered our questions quickly and would check-in with us. On our day, she was professional, patient, and just fun to hang out with!
The pictures we received speak for themselves. Hannah is the absolute best! She captured us and the beautiful Pacific Northwest brilliantly. We are in awe of our enchanting wedding album! Our friends and family keep commenting, “These are the dreamiest wedding pictures I have ever seen!”
We are so glad we decided to do this for our special day! We will cherish these memories and pictures forever.” -Courtney and Justin
