Miranda and James’ fall Mount Baker elopement was one of those days that felt magical from the start. It was the last day the road was open for the season, and we had the entire place to ourselves—something that never happens up there. The fog rolled in thick, swirling through the golden fall colors, creating the most dreamy scene.
These two flew in from Atlanta, Georgia, to celebrate their love with an adventure instead of a traditional wedding they initially thought might be the move. They wanted something intimate that felt right for them. From their emotional vows to their matching socks with their dog’s face on them (an elite choice, if you ask me), their day was full of unique moments.

A Romantic First Look Before Sunrise at Artist Point
Miranda and James’ story started like many modern romances—on Bumble. But what set them apart was how deeply they valued their time together. They thought about doing a traditional wedding but quickly realized that what they really wanted was something just for them—an experience that reflected their love in the most honest way possible. So, they packed their bags, flew across the country, and set out for an intimate elopement in one of the most beautiful places in Washington.
We met before sunrise, and our breath was visible in the faint glow of our lanterns as we started hiking toward Artist Point for their first look. It was so quiet, and the mountains usually towering in the distance were hidden behind thick fog. While clear mountain views are always a treat, the mist made the scene feel deeply intimate.

Their Private Artist Point Elopement Ceremony
If you’ve ever been to Artist Point, you know it’s almost unheard of to be there alone. Usually, it’s packed with hikers, photographers, and people just soaking in the insane views. But on this day, it was just Miranda & James, standing together in the quiet, surrounded by fog and the last bursts of colorful fall foliage. Their ceremony was simple, genuine, and so emotional. One thing that makes elopements so special is how you’re not worried about perfection or what your guests may think—it’s about feeling everything, fully and completely.

Exploring Around Bagley Lake, Dancing, & Cake
After the ceremony, we took our time exploring. This place is usually buzzing with hikers and tourists. But on this last open day of the season, it was eerily still—in the best way.
At some point, Miranda and James decided it was time for their first dance. They pulled up At Last by Etta James, and it was so sweet to watch them together in the cool mountain air, wrapped up in the moment. As the day wound down, we returned and set up at a little picnic table to wrap things up with cake from Deep Sea Sugar & Salt. It was simple and sweet. They sat together, laughing between bites and letting it all sink in.

Love Letter From The Couple:
“Working with Hannah was such an excellent experience! She is very easy to talk to which makes the whole process feel so much easier! Any questions or the vision you have, she will work to help you achieve it. We flew from Georgia to Washington, and she was able to help a lot with local vendor recommendations, including lodging. Our photos are a dream, and I know that this experience and the results will be cherished for a lifetime.” – Miranda + James
