Lake Crescent

The day began with a quiet first look on the dock at Lake Crescent. The early morning air was crisp and still, the water reflecting the pink and gold hues of the rising sun. Watching them see each other for the first time in this serene setting was such a beautiful, emotional moment. The lake’s calm surface and the surrounding forest made it feel like they were the only two people in the world. After soaking in that moment, we grabbed a canoe and paddled around the lake. Drifting on the water, we captured photos of them enjoying the quiet of the morning and simply being present in the magic.

Marymere Falls

After the lake, we headed to Marymere Falls. The short hike to the waterfall was surrounded by towering evergreens and lush moss, giving the forest an enchanted feel. The falls themselves provided a stunning backdrop for portraits. K & J were all smiles as we explored the area, stopping along the trail for candid shots.

Sol Duc Airbnb

Midday brought a much-needed break at their Airbnb on the Sol Duc River. Nestled right along the flowing river, it was the perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy a quiet moment together before the next chapter of the day. The peaceful sounds of the river and surrounding woods made it feel like a private retreat. It was a welcome pause in the midst of their adventurous day.

Hoh Rainforest

In the afternoon, we ventured into the Hoh Rainforest, one of the most magical places in Olympic National Park. The ancient trees, draped in moss and ferns, created an ethereal atmosphere. The filtered light, soft green tones, and sense of calm made it the perfect location for intimate portraits. Katyana and Joe’s laughter echoed through the forest as we explored and discovered little pockets of natural beauty for photos. This part of the day was truly like stepping into another world—a lush, quiet, and almost mystical environment that perfectly matched their adventurous spirit.

Ruby Beach

As the day drew to a close, it was time for their ceremony. They were joined by their 15 closest family members at Ruby Beach, a spot famous for its dramatic sea stacks and expansive sandy shore. Surrounded by the people they love most, Katyana and Joe exchanged vows.

After the ceremony, we captured lantern photos as the sky darkened. The soft glow of the lanterns added a magical touch to the final portraits of the day, creating a warm, dreamy atmosphere against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. Watching them share this quiet, intimate moment together was the perfect way to close their Lake Crescent elopement.
