Autumn & Cody’s Mt. Rainier Elopement Day

Autumn and Cody’s June elopement at Mount Rainier felt calm, intentional, and full of those quiet moments that stick with you.
We started the day early at sunrise at Reflection Lake. The lake was still and glassy, and the light was soft as the sun came up behind the mountain. They said their vows there, just the two of them, with Mount Rainier reflected in the water behind them. It was peaceful and slow, the kind of start that instantly sets the tone for the whole day.

After sunrise, we made our way to Myrtle Falls. June at Rainier is that in-between season where summer is trying to show up, but winter hasn’t fully let go yet. The mountain was out, the falls were roaring from snowmelt, and there was still snow tucked into the higher elevations. We took photos along the trail with big mountain views and rushing water, soaking in one of Rainier’s most iconic spots.

Originally, the plan was to hike the Skyline Trail, but snow coverage up high made that a no-go. Instead, we shifted plans and headed to Comet Falls. It ended up being the perfect choice. The hike winds through lush forest with Van Trump Creek rushing alongside the trail. Everything felt alive from the melt.
When we reached Comet Falls, the mist filled the air and the sound of the waterfall echoed through the canyon. Sunlight hit the spray just right, and a rainbow appeared over the falls. It felt unreal. We spent time there taking photos, letting the moment breathe, and enjoying how unexpectedly perfect it all was.

To wrap up the day, we headed back to their A-frame Airbnb in Packwood. They popped champagne, cut their cake, and settled into a quiet evening together. No rushing. No crowds. Just a cozy ending to a full, meaningful day.

Autumn and Cody’s elopement is such a good example of why flexibility matters at Mount Rainier. You don’t need everything to go exactly as planned. Sometimes the backup plan gives you waterfalls, rainbows, and memories you couldn’t have planned better if you tried.
Eloping at Mt. Rainier
Mount Rainier is one of the best places to elope in Washington, but it definitely requires flexibility. Conditions change fast, even in summer. June is a great example of that. Lower elevation trails are usually clear, waterfalls are at their peak, and higher alpine areas can still be covered in snow.
That’s why planning an elopement here is all about having options. Sunrise locations like Reflection Lake are perfect for privacy and calm conditions. Spots like Myrtle Falls give you those classic mountain views without a long hike. And forest trails like Comet Falls are amazing backups when snow limits access up high.
Permits are required for all elopements in Mount Rainier National Park, and guest count, locations, and timing all matter. Choosing the right locations for the season can make or break the experience. When you lean into what the mountain is offering that day, it almost always turns out better than expected.

Your Mt. Rainier Elopement Photographer
Mount Rainier isn’t a one-plan-fits-all kind of place. I help my couples figure out locations that make sense for their date, the season, and the conditions. If a plan needs to change, we already have a solid backup.
I don’t just show up with a camera – I help with permits, timelines, location ideas, and realistic expectations for the park. I know when to start early, where crowds build fast, and which trails still feel quiet.
Most of all, I focus on keeping the day relaxed. No rushing. No pressure. Just space to actually be present with each other. Whether that’s vows at sunrise, hiking to a waterfall, or ending the day popping champagne back at your cabin, I help the day flow naturally.
Autumn and Cody’s elopement is a perfect example of that. Flexible plans, trusted guidance, and a day that felt true to them from start to finish. For more information on eloping at Mt.
