There’s something about a Seward, Alaska elopement that just feels different. Slower, quieter, and way more intentional. Hannah and Thad’s day at Salted Roots Cabins was exactly that. No big timeline. No stress. Just a really good day together.

A Slow Morning in Their Salted Roots Cabin
Hannah and Thad started their day the best way possible—together. They made coffee, shared donuts, and got ready side by side in their cozy cabin tucked into the trees. No rushing around or separate rooms. Just calm energy and a chance to actually be present before everything started. It set the tone for the whole day. The brides dress was from local Anchorage bridal shop, Oraindas Bridal!

Vows on the Coast with Mountain Views
After getting ready, we headed out to the coast just a short walk away. Seward has this wild mix of ocean and mountains that never really feels real until you’re standing in it. They found a quiet spot overlooking the water, with the mountains rising up behind them, and read their vows. No distractions. Just the sound of the waves and a few deep breaths in between words. This is exactly why people choose to elope in Alaska.

Peak Fireweed Season Magic
Late July is one of the best times for a Seward Alaska elopement, and Hannah and Thad fully leaned into it. The fireweed was in full bloom across the property, adding the prettiest pops of color to their photos. It’s one of those super short seasonal windows that makes your day feel even more unique. We wandered through the fields, took things slow, and let the scenery do its thing.

A Simple, Sweet Celebration
After their vows, they kept things simple in the best way. A fruit tart, sparkling water, and a quiet moment to take it all in. No big reception needed. Just celebrating the fact that they just got married in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

How to Make Your Seward Elopement Even More Adventurous
If you’re planning your own Seward Alaska elopement, there are a few incredible ways to turn your day (or weekend) into an experience:
- Take a wildlife cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park
- Book a helicopter tour for glacier views from above and say your vows on the ice!
- Go dog sledding on a glacier (yes, even in summer)
Seward is one of those places where you can do as little or as much as you want—and it all feels unforgettable.

Tips for Eloping in Seward, Alaska
1. Plan around the weather (and embrace it)
Seward is known for moody skies and coastal weather. Clouds and mist are part of the experience and honestly make photos even better.
2. Time your elopement with the seasons
Late July = peak fireweed. Earlier summer has longer daylight, and fall brings golden tones. Each season feels completely different.
3. Choose a location with easy access + epic views
Places like Salted Roots Cabins give you the best of both worlds—beautiful cabins and access to the coast without needing to hike for hours.
4. Build a relaxed timeline
Give yourself space to slow down. Some of the best moments happen in between the “planned” parts.
5. Consider making it a multi-day experience
There is so much to do in Alaska! Stay a few nights, explore, and turn your elopement into a full adventure instead of just a few hours.
