Frequently Asked Questions

Are we allowed to have our wedding ceremony at an Airbnb? Technically Airbnb no longer allows special events, but we can always ask the hosts if they’re okay with a small ceremony on their property. I wouldn’t count on them allowing more than 5 to 10 guests at most Airbnbs. For most elopements we’ll have your ceremony in the National Park and might just take some photos at the Airbnb. Definitely let them know about all vendors that may be coming such as hair and makeup artists, florists, officiants, caterers, and your photographer!

Are we allowed to take photos at an Airbnb? When booking your Airbnb, make sure to ask the hosts if they’re okay with us taking photos there! Most hosts will be fine with a photographer taking some photos and I always make sure to tag vendors on any social media posts. We should always make sure to clean up the property before leaving so future couples can have their elopements there as well!

Should we book our photographer or Airbnb first? I would reccomend photographer first! After booking I send you reccomendations for places to stay, help you with all the planning and make sure the Airbnb you choose is close to the locations you want to explore!

Why should we stay in an Airbnb versus a hotel? I think staying in an Airbnb provides more privacy- most of these cabins are on at least half an acre with forest and rivers nearby. They also have amenities like hot tubs and fire pits that are much better when you don’t have to share them with anyone else! I picked these Airbnbs because they will photograph beautifully but will also be a comfortable place to stay near the National Park! In addition, there aren’t many nice hotel options near the National Parks and the quality of Airbnbs is usally much higher than the nearby motels.

Do we have to take photos at the Airbnb? No! If you don’t want any getting ready photos and would rather do a first look somewhere in the forest or on the top of a mountain, we don’t have to take photos at your Airbnb. These are just unique places to stay with more privacy and character than a typical hotel room.

Do we have to choose one of these Airbnb’s? No! These are just ones that I love from a photographers perspective but after booking I can help find the perfect place for your budget and locations!
