A + J had the most amazing Olympic National Park elopement! An elopement in Olympic National Park can be a truly magical and unique experience. Olympic National Park offers a diverse range of stunning landscapes, from lush rainforests to rugged coastlines and majestic mountains, providing a perfect backdrop for an intimate and memorable elopement. Over 8 hours we were able to canoe at Lake Crescent, hike to Marymere Falls, and end the day with a sunset picnic at Second Beach! If you’re thinking of eloping in Olympic National Park, check out my guide for everything you need to know!
Lake Crescent
We started the day off at Lake Crescent, a glacier-carved lake with crystal clear water and surrounded by mountains! This was A & J’s first time in Washington and their first time paddling around in a canoe together! The combination of the natural beauty, the peacefulness of the water, and the sense of exploration created a truly unforgettable experience for the couple.
Marymere Falls
After their canoe adventure, we headed into the woods for their ceremony! They read their vows with the sounds of the river rushing by! Following their ceremony we hiked up to Marymere Falls! The falls are accessed by a scenic 1.8 mile hike through an enchanting forest. The intimate atmosphere of Marymere Falls makes it a romantic spot for exchanging vows or taking post-wedding photos. With only 200 feet of elevation gain, the hike is not too difficult in a wedding dress!
Second Beach
Then it was time to head to the coast for sunset! It’s about an hour drive from Lake Crescent to Second Beach and then a 4 mile roundtrip hike. Second Beach is a stunning coastal location within the Olympic National Park. It is known for its sea stacks, tide pools, and dramatic sunsets. This secluded beach offers a sense of tranquility and intimacy, making it a fantastic spot for a private elopement with the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean as your backdrop! For their Second Beach elopement, Allie and Jimmy brought a pizza with them to enjoy, popped champagne, explored the tide pools and had their first dance together as the sun was setting!
Remember that an elopement is all about celebrating your love in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to you as a couple. It allows you to create a memorable experience without the pressures and expectations that can come with a traditional wedding. So, embrace the adventure and create a day that is truly unique to your love story!
