How to Elope at Trillium Lake

Eloping at Trillium Lake can be a magical and intimate experience. Here’s a simple guide to help you plan your elopement at this beautiful location:

  1. Choose Your Date and Time: Consider the season and weather conditions when selecting your elopement date. Sunrise and sunset are particularly stunning times for ceremonies at Trillium Lake, offering breathtaking views of Mount Hood.
  2. Hire a Photographer: Capture every moment of your elopement with the help of a professional photographer. Look for someone experienced in outdoor and adventurous elopements who can immortalize the beauty of Trillium Lake and your love story (this is where I come in! inquire here)
  3. Plan Your Ceremony: Customize your elopement ceremony to reflect your personalities and relationship. Write your own vows, choose meaningful readings, or incorporate rituals that are special to you as a couple. As your photographer, I figure out the timeline for the day!
  4. Pack Essentials: Prepare for your elopement by packing essentials such as comfortable attire, appropriate footwear, any necessary permits or paperwork, snacks and water, sunscreen, bug spray, and any personal items you may need.
  5. Consider Accommodations: While Trillium Lake itself doesn’t offer accommodations (besides camping), there are nearby options in towns like Government Camp, Rhododendron, and Welches. Look for lodging options that fit your preferences and budget. I help all my couples with lodging recommendations!
  6. Plan Your Celebration: After the ceremony, consider celebrating with a picnic, a toast, or a small meal together. Bring along a bottle of champagne or your favorite snacks to enjoy as you bask in the joy of your newlywed status.
  7. Leave No Trace: Help preserve the beauty of Trillium Lake by following Leave No Trace principles. Pack out all trash, respect wildlife and vegetation, and stay on designated trails and areas to minimize your impact on the environment.

By following these steps, you can create a memorable and meaningful elopement experience at Trillium Lake that reflects your love and celebrates the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest! Now let’s get to Taryn and Darrells incredible sunrise canoe elopement at Trillium Lake!

Sunrise Canoe Elopement

Taryn and Darrell’s wedding day started with fog blanketing Trillium Lake. Undeterred by the weather, they embraced the moody ambiance and embarked on their sunrise canoe ride. The water was so still we could see their reflection as they paddled around. Taryn and Darrell exchanged their vows on the dock and committed to a lifetime of adventures together.

Brunch Picnic at Trillium Lake

After their canoe ride and ceremony, Taryn & Darrell set up the most incredible brunch spread near the lake to celebrate. Wrapped in blankets to ward off the chill, they enjoyed a spread of warm pastries, mimosas, and berries while relishing the peaceful atmosphere. They popped champagne in the rain and cozied up under an umbrella while enjoying being newly married!
